I love writing, website creation and everything in between.

I have always been fascinated by the stories we tell, both to ourselves and each other. This has led to two important facets of my life: my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Yale University, and my lifelong passion for the written word. As I have gotten older, my passion for fiction writing has melded with a curiosity for how to use new media to more effectively communicate.

Over the course of my career, I have honed my skills in marketing strategy, project management, content creation, and data analysis. My 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications have equipped me with the necessary skills to effectively manage, strategize and implement communication strategies that support organizational objectives. In my most recent Marketing Associate role, my primary responsibility was to create and implement marketing plans to achieve the organization’s sales and event participation goals. These marketing plans had an intended audience for each deliverable, timelines and predicted budget, and took into account content needed for our website, email, social media (both paid and organic) and print communications. I frequently coordinated with external vendors, such as a graphic designer and printing company, to create these deliverables.

In both of my Associate roles, have produced an assortment of deliverables for multiple channels, including: SEO-optimized website copy; blog posts; social media, including graphics; scripts for animated videos; and print projects, such as donor communications, sales letters and show playbills.

My professional roles are supplemented by my content marketing strategies I use to build my author platform online, which has included performing niche research, creating websites, and connecting with audience members and influencers in my niche via blogging, social media, and newsletters.

Participating in and completing the Front End Web Development courses at Code: You has built upon my existing web development knowledge, which I hope to use as a scaffold for my expanding web development skills. In addition to solidifying my HTML and CSS abilities and creating cleaner code, this course also laid a beginner’s foundation for creating applications using JavaScript, including Node.js, and utilizing Git/GitHub for version control of my projects. I plan to continue what I have learned in these courses through self-study to extend my JavaScript abilities and learn additional languages. I am continuing my web development journey with the Code: You course focused on UI/UX that I am currently taking.

I look forward to combining my marketing and communications experience with my growing web development skillset in my next position.
